What to do in Westbourne
As the last of the Winter months roll through, it seems time slips away far too quickly! The Library
Westbourne has a number of community-focused events for those looking to have a bit more social time and meet new people. Westbourne Library for example has a poetry group on the 4th Monday of every month, a monthly reading group, and a craft group on Saturdays, the perfect way to spend an afternoon on a cold Winter’s day. For those with children looking for things to do, the Library also offers a number of events tailored to children, usually on Tuesdays and Fridays. Other than its events, the Library has a number of facilities including free Wi-Fi, cosy areas for studying or reading, and plenty of rooms to hire!
Arts and Crafts!
For the creatives amongst you, there are art classes also available (for varying ages!) in Westbourne. The Westcliff Baptist Church hosts Tuesday evening art classes, Wednesday morning classes, and a Paint & Prosecco Class for those looking for a nice mix! Beginners are more than welcome, with the classes being suitable for any level of skill, so what better time to pick up a new hobby than during these long Winter days?

Restaurants in Westbourne are also here to get you through the season, with Ludo Lounge hosting a Chess club (again with beginners welcome!), plenty of free books to pick up and read, and live music. A warm meal with a drink and a book is a perfect way to distract from the cold outside! The Lazy Fox also hosts a Sin ‘N’ Paint class, with a session coming up on the 8th February for Galentine’s, so for anyone looking for an evening of drinks and fun with friends, look no further!
The Pictures
The Colosseum is a great place to visit in Westbourne during the Winter, with its cosy cinema downstairs, you can take in a film while feeling as though you’re in the comfort of your own home, with a warm and friendly bar upstairs to spend an afternoon in. Those visiting the pictures can sort out the all-important snacks for the film at the Fair Trader, only a few stores down from the Colosseum in Westbourne’s Arcade, keeping things perfectly convenient and in-house! Westbourne’s huge variety of coffee shops and restaurants provide visitors with endless choices of where to go before or after your visit, a hot coffee can fix all!
